About Meg Bennett
I am a ceramic artist who uses the ceramic medium to explore natural systems, plants, biological patterns, and
environmentalism in my practice. I enjoy large scale sculptural work, thrown forms, detailed carving and sgraffito work, and bright colours in my work. I recieved my bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a major in Ceramics and a minor in Art History from
NSCAD University in 2021. I
exhibited in the Anna Leonowens Gallery in 2021 and was the runner-up for the
Degarthe Art Award in 2016. I have
volunteered at many different arts organizations, including the Art Gallery of
Nova Scotia and NSCAD University, to teach art classes and camps. I
currently pursue my artistic career in my hometown of Kjipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki(Halifax, Nova Scotia).
